Threes and the Dreaming: Faces of the Goddess

Three makes one more than two, at the most basic consideration, leaving aside all the other weighted connotations of the number.  It simply presents another option to A or B.  Which tends to fuck some people up.  The third step is a sort of threshold into the next set of options, the blurring of the black and white into grays, for the less-than-visionary, or to full-spectrum rainbow.  If you're so inclined.

Perhaps it's a function, or a part thereof, of being a third myself...at least the foundation-ego part of me, for lack of a better description.  (We'll address that notion at some later point...)  Third card up, and it's fucking black-jack.  Every once in a great while. The Touched Sperrit...flickering away lowly, muddy light flaring up on occasion, revealing a peek around the corner.  The dreaming wide-awake...

The River Ladies

Daphne I

My Lady of the River appeared serendipitously, a Ukrainian spam-angel promising a lifetime's worth of delight, and an eternity's joyful servitude, offering herself as Valkyrie.  A beautiful image, if totally bogus.  Ah well.  Daphne she became, and she set that ancient chair beneath my ancient trees.

Daphne II

Hidden in her protective thickets, safe in the arms of her father, she can afford to taunt the Sun God, a reminder, of sorts, of the true way of things.  Daphne is laurel, is river, is the Sun himself and more than that Moon, synthesized and re-presented.  Daphne casts shadows of boot-heel over gentle rolling plains, and slow expanses of water.  She is the gleam of sunlight upon black leather.

River Lady (Daphne)

The River God's daughter showed her face to me in three different forms, and offered me the opportunity of making small magic.  Blessings be.
